Fellow of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (FPIDS)

What is FPIDS?

Advancement to Fellow of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (FPIDS) honors individuals who have demonstrated professional excellence and made significant, sustained contributions to the field of pediatric infectious diseases.

Eligible individuals should show a continuing commitment to pediatric infectious diseases through roles such as clinician, researcher, microbiologist, epidemiologist, pharmacist, educator, nurse practitioner, or administrator.

Becoming a Fellow of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society

Candidates must demonstrate sustained excellence and leadership and/or scholarship in pediatric infectious diseases or a closely related field. Evidence of peer recognition is essential and may include recognition as a clinician, educator, investigator, public health leader, or administrator.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicants must be PIDS members for at least 7 years post-terminal training* (for physicians) or 5 years (for non-physicians). Members must be in good standing at the time of application.
  • Applicants must clearly describe their current role and how it reflects ongoing identification with the pediatric infectious diseases profession.

*Full membership does not include those years in training for physicians. To be eligible, you must be out of fellowship training seven years or more and be a member in good standing for the last seven years.
