  1. acquire training and experience necessary to diagnose and manage pediatric patients with a wide variety of acute and chronic infectious diseases
  2. become familiar with functions and appropriate use of diagnostic laboratories important for infectious diseases
  3. become familiar with basic epidemiology and biostatistical methods
  4. perform clinical and laboratory research
  5. understand and deal with principles of disease prevention and control
  6. acquire teaching and presentation skills.
