The Journal of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (JPIDS), to manage the continued growth in submissions and further establish a rotation process for Associate Editors, seeks qualified applicants to fill the following roles:
Associate Editor (1)-Member at Large: The applicant should have significant prior expertise and publications related to many diverse aspects of pediatric infectious diseases in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. These AEs will handle papers across a variety of topics, including papers that do not easily fit into any other topic categories.
Associate Editor (1)-Global Health/Tropical Medicine: The applicant should have significant prior clinical and research experience in any aspect of Global Health/Tropical Medicine. This AE will be expected to handle papers discussing studies in this topic area from anywhere in the world. Because we have AEs who already handle the global aspects of HIV and vaccinations, topics most frequently managed include TB, vector-borne infections and parasitology. In order to help manage the overall flow of papers, the AE may periodically be asked to help manage papers outside this area.
Associate Editor (1)-Supplements: This AE has a unique role on the team and will be responsible for Supplement development and oversight. This individual will meet with potential guest editors, sponsors and other parties to discuss suggestions for future supplements. The AE will work with guest editors to prepare supplement proposals, then coordinate with OUP representatives to seek sponsorship. Once the contracting process is complete, the AE will support guest editors to manage the review of solicited articles and subsequent promotion of the published content In order to help manage the overall flow of papers, the AE may periodically be asked to help manage papers outside this area.
