MAJOR FEATURES OF TRAINING PROGRAM: The Pediatric Infectious Diseases fellowship at Corewell health Helen Devos Childrens Hospital, a top-ranked institution by U/S News & world Report for 12 years, offers a comprehensive training experience. Fellows primarily rotate at Helen Devos, the only free-standing children’s hospital in West Michigan, and at Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital, a major referral center. The program covers diverse infectious pathologies, including blood, bone, joint, lung, and gastrointestinal infections, and serves specialized patient groups such as international adoptees, refugees, and HIV patients. A key feature is the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program in both inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring optimal antibiotic use. Fellows benefit from learning under experienced faculty, engaging in significant research opportunities, and working within a collaborative healthcare system.
