Our members have consistently voiced concerns about fair compensation of pediatric infectious diseases specialists. IDSA is leading a large task force effort to understand and ultimately increase infectious diseases specialist compensation, and they have included Peds ID in this initiative. If you are a member of the IDSA and have received the survey link, please fill out the compensation survey. The link has also been included in multiple IDSA newsletters. The survey closes Monday, May 24th.
We at PIDS recognize that this IDSA survey will not feel like a perfect fit for your work, but we can analyze some pediatric ID results and would like to gather as much information as possible to help our field. Dr. Bill Steinbach continues to work with a group of PIDS leaders and Peds ID division chiefs on parallel, pediatric-centric work in this domain. We will follow up with a PIDS survey later, but we believe there is an opportunity to leverage information from the IDSA survey.
