MAJOR FEATURES OF TRAINING PROGRAM: The objective of this program is to prepare the physician for a career in academic pediatric infectious diseases. Clinical training (12 months) is spread over three years of fellowship. This training includes experience with complications of common infections in normal hosts, as well as the range of infections seen in compromised hosts including those with malignancy, bone marrow transplantation, liver transplantation, kidney transplantation, and AIDS. Research is primarily laboratory-based, although clinical/epidemiologic studies are also in progress.
