GRANT FUNDING RECEIVED FOR FELLOW RESEARCH PROJECTS:
MAJOR FEATURES OF TRAINING PROGRAM:
This is three-year program geared to prepare fellows for careers in academic infectious diseases. The first year is focused on clinical training at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, including general and immunocompromised populations. In the second and third years, fellows complete clinical rotations in outpatient subspecialty clinics but devote the majority of time to research. For research mentorship, fellows can work within our division or with any of UCSF’s world-class researchers in the basic and clinical sciences.
HOSPITALS PARTICIPATING IN PROGRAM:
UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, San Francisco: 183 beds
UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, Oakland: 191 beds
FELLOWS ACCEPTED EACH YEAR: 1
TRAINING FOR: MD; DO; MD, PhD
FUNDING IS ENSURED FOR ALL 3 YEARS: Yes
